Brengun 1/144 Eduard Me 262 Detail Set
By Matt Bittner
One of Brengun's strengths is their aftermarket for kits no other company covers. This is especially true in 1/144 scale. While some dismiss 1/144 as too "toy-like", there are plenty of modelers - and companies - that think otherwise.
While Eduard's Me 262 does come with an interior - unlike their older Ju 87 - in my opinion it's only enough if you plan on closing the canopy. If you want the interior open in any form, then the kit-supplied parts need help. This is where this set from Brengun comes in. The main, resin cockpit tub is a direct replacement for the kit one, and even without all the extras is already more detailed. Add all the photoetch pieces to it - seat belts, instrument panel, side detail, etc. - and you have more than enough to leave the canopy open.In addition to all the interior pieces Brengun supplies, they also have plenty for the outside, too. There's a cockpit "sill/surround" to add to the kit, plus a 't-bar' behind the cockpit and a loop antenna behind that. There are oleo scissors to add not only to the main landing gear, but also the nose gear-leg. There are replacement landing gear doors, including door "hangers" for the main gear. Finally there's a whip-antenna for the underside of the wing and wheel hubs for the main gear. Since Eduard's box contains two models, Brengun supplies two super-detail sets.
All in all an excellent set for superdetaling Eduard's Me 262. Add Brengun's vac-replacement canopy, and you'll definitely have a model to show off.
We definitely would like to thank Brengun for sending this set in for review.
