F&A Miniatures 1/72 Polish Halftrack Truck WZ.34
By Matt Bittner
Introduction
From the PIBWL site:
"The halftrack car wz. 34 was a Polish derivate of a 2.5t truck Polski FIAT-621, which was produced by Italian licence since 1932. The halftrack variant was designed in 1934 by the Armoured Forces Technical Research Bureau (BBT BP) in Warsaw. The design utilised many truck components, including engine. Some of them were strengthened or modified (a frame). A gearbox was modified to better suit off-road ride. The main change was a replacement of a rear axle with a track gear. The track mechanism was inspired by the French halftracks Citroën-Kegresse P14/ 17/ 19 and Vickers E tank suspension."
The Kit

As with the other F&A Miniatures kits I've reviewed, their level of detail is astounding. However, the same goes for all the text I've written about these kits. You need to be careful when removing the parts from their supports because you could break off detail that's molded with each part. With the various stick shifts molded separately - along with the steering wheel and its column - you need to be extra careful when removing these delicate parts from their supports. I've read everything from using a vibrating knife to soaking the supports in warm water, but whatever you decide to use, have patience when removing the supports so you don't break the parts.
With this kit you recieve not only the separate parts for the interior, but also a separate roof and doors, which will allow you to work on the interior without anything in the way, and allow you to pose one - or both - of the doors open. Not included with the kit is any type of clear for the windows so you're left on your own for that, but you could use the parts as "masters": put a piece of tape across the openings and "draw" the openings on the tape, then transfer the tape to your choice of clear material to use as windows.
Conclusion
This is truly a well-detailed model and if the subject is in your wheelhouse, then by all means pick it up. You won't be disappointed.
I definitely want to thank F&A Minatures for sending this in for review.
