Eduard 1/72 USN Carrier Deck 1943-1944 Lift Area

By Matt Bittner

Not too long after releasing their 1/72 pre-painted, plastic PSP base, Eduard has released this 1/72 USN Carrier Deck 1943-1944 Lift Area (#73416), also pre-painted.

Unlike the PSP, I thought this pre-painted section didn't need any further work to it, so I will leave it "out-of-the-bag". Eventually I will adhere it to some larger base, but for now it looks good sitting under any 1/72 USN aircraft.

You can see in the photos that I have my Eduard F6F-3 sitting on top of the lift area section. Could multiple sections be glued together to create a larger display? Probably. Eduard has also released, this month of March, another section of the lift area, so I'm guessing these two pieces could be brought together. There were no actual instructions in the baggie, instead leaving it to the modeler's imagination on how to use these sections.

Thank you to Eduard for providing this review lift area photoetch.
