Model Craft Mini Scissors
By Matt Bittner
Model Craft has released these Mini Scissors and I can see plenty of uses for them.
While I have yet to try them on plastic and determine if they will dull badly or not, one potential use for them is to cut away the excess from vacuformed canopies. If they do work on those, then they have defintiely provided more use then their actual worth. Everything else after that is gravy.
Another obvious use is on decals. These can maneuver around the smallest of decals, cutting them out with ease. Use on masking tape, string if you use it, but I'm not sure they would work on the material I use for rigging, which is .005" stainless steel wire. That might be too much for them. I also suspect they would work, but wouldn't stand to multiple uses on, photoetch brass. However, if they do work and won't dull too quickly, then again they are worth their weight in gold. That would be a future find, though.I already plan on using them on decals, so no worries there. I may contact the company and see if they recommend them being used on photoetch or not. I will update this article if I ever find out.
Thanks to Billing Boats USA for the scissors to review.
