The Aviation Workshop's On Target Profiles 8 is on all photo recconnaissance Spitfires. All marks are covered and covered well.
The first profile is for a Mk.IA that was converted for PR duties. The book continues from there, covering the Mk.IB-Mk.IG, and then the change to the nomenclature for PR Spitfires. The first one to undergo the number change was the Mk.ID, which became the PR Mk.IV. After the early Merlin-engined machines are covered, the book then moves into the late Merlins, followed by the early Griffon engined aircraft.
Post war aircraft are also profiled, and not just British machines. Indian, Swedish, Turkish, etc. also make up the profiles. The last profile in the book is for a PR Mk.19 (Type 390) that flew in 1954 of 81 Squadron, RAF, Malaysia.
All in all an excellent reference for modelers building photo reconnaissance Spitfires of all makes and types.
My thanks to The Aviation Workshop for sending this book for review.
