Yellow-Wings Decals has became well known among modelers for creating great sets of decals for U.S. military aircraft from the early 1930s to the early part of World War II. Each set of decals from Yellow-Wings contains four-color and black-line drawings and placement instructions. All decals are printed by Microscale.
Set 48-085 depicts two more complete USAAC P-6E's.
One represents the 33rd Pursuit Squadron at Langley Field, Virginia in 1933. The plane had an olive drab fuselage with yellow wings and vertical stabilizer. These decals include four national roundels with red centers for the wings, red and white rudder stripes, black and white ID numbers, yellow lettering, black U.S. Army, Prestone labels and unit badges showing outstretched eagle claws.
The second P-6E, with a blue-gray fuselage with yellow wings and vertical stabilizer, was flown by the 36th Pursuit Squadron at Langley in 1936. Decals for this aircraft include yellow fuselage bands, red and white rudder stripes, four national roundels for the wings, black and white numerals, black U.S. Army, Prestone labels and unit badges showing an open-mouthed dog wearing a leather helmet and goggles.
