Wolfpak Decals 1/72 “Jammin’”
By Matt Bittner
Wolfpak Decals are known for their excellent instruction sheets and extremely well-done decals. They don't cater for a specific type on their sheets, instead they try to find a common theme and cater to various aircraft around that theme. Sometimes it's difficult to figure that them out but the specific examples Wolfpak puts on these releases are always interesting and bound to be something no one else has done.
In this case, the "Jammin'" release (#72-093) contains subjects that are USAF electronic warfare aircraft. Those machines are:
- F-100F, Wild Weasel, Det 1, 6234th TFW, Korat RTAB, Feb 1966 (finished in SEA camouflage)
- B-1B "Top Secret", 34th BS, 28th BW, Ellsworth AFB, Sept 1988 (finished in SIOP camouflage)
- EB-66E, 19th Tactical Electronic Combat Squadron, Kadena AB, Okinawa, 1970 (finished in SEA camouflage)
- EB-66E, 39th TEWS, Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, Aug 1972 (finished in SEA camouflage)
- EC-135C, MILSTAR equipped, 2nd ACCS, 55th SRW, Offutt AFB, Nebraska, 1991
- EC-135G, 70th AREFS, 305th AREFW, Grissom AFB, Indiana, 1989
As I already mentioned, the decals are top-notch and in register and are really worth tracking down, especially if one of these aircraft and schemes provides interest.
My thanks to Wolfpak Decals for supplying this set for review.
