Wolfpak Decals 1/72 2013 Thanks
By Matt Bittner
Wolfpak Decals is known for putting different subjects on their decal sheets. Instead of having an entire sheet dedicated to a specific aircraft type, for example a Nieuport 17, Wolfpak mixes it up by having more than one aircraft in the mix. When it comes to their "Thank You" sheets, they go even farther by presenting aircraft that are extremely unique. This 12-13 "Thank You" sheet definitely covers that area.
These are the subjects covered:
-
F-16A, 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS), 31st Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW), Homestead AFB, 1986, finished in the earlier three grey scheme
- RA-5C, RVAH-13, USS Kittyhawk, 1966, finished in the typical South East Asia Camouflage (SEAC) scheme (two greens and a tan) for the era, but with white undersides
- A-6A, VA-65, 2-color camo, USS Constellation, 1966, finished with two shades of green on the upper surfaces and white on the undersides
- F-100D, 113th TFS, Indiana Air National Guard (ANG), November 1979, the last operational F-100D in squadron service, finished in typical SEAC camouflage with a red nose-gear door
Since the decals are printed by Fantasy Printshop you can be assured of their quality. The colors look fantastic and the registration appears to be spot-on. Again, as with all the other releases from Wolfpak Decals, their instruction sheets are the best in the business, since not only do you get a concise history of the aircraft being modeled, but you also usually receive a history of the squadron and the aircraft type. First rate.
If you're looking for unusual markings then you'll definitely want to pick up this sheet. Many thanks to Wolfpak Decals for the review set.
