Starfighter 1/72 Curtiss P-6E Cockpit
By Matt Bittner
The latest release from Starfighter Decals' in their resin line is a complete cockpit for the Monogram/Accurate Miniatures 1/72 Curtiss P-6E.
There's a little more work to this compared to their F11C-2 and F4B-4 cockpits. With the P-6E you'll need to remove some material from the sides of the cockpit along with the "peg and hole" for the pilot.
This set consists of two cockpit sides, the cockpit floor, a very nicely done seat (with belts molded in-situ), a front and back bulkhead (the front including the rudder pedals), an instrument panel and finally, the control stick. Very complete!
As with the F4B-4 cockpit you'll need to align the pieces before you glue them down. The instructions are pretty comprehensive so you'll definitely want to follow them.
A definite need for the Monogram (and recently re-released Accurate Miniatures) kit. I'm super thankful for Starfighter for releaseing these sets for the still available and neglected Monogram kits.
Huge thanks to Starfighter Decals for the review set. Be sure to watch their site as they're releasing another set of decals for the P-6E to coincide with the 2009 IPMS Nationals in Columbus, OH.
