Starfighter Decals 1/72 Curtiss SBC-3/4 E Z Rigging
By Matt Bittner
When one thinks of rigging, one doesn't usually think of photoetch, being that photoetch is flat. However, U.S. 'tweener aircraft's rigging wasn't "round", per-se, and was actually closer to being "flat", so Starfighter's photoetch rigging is very close to being accurate. Their latest set of E Z Rigging is for the Heller 1/72 SBC-3/4.
What you receive with this set is not only the main rigging wires for the between the wings and the center struts, but also a pitot tube for the starboard strut, a replacement DF loop (which actually replaces the Starfighter resin one contained in their SBC-3 conversion), as well as new bomb racks which are built-up using multiple pieces. Although using this rigging set will require extra time, it's a lot less than having to cut wires yourself. Sure, it's recommended to test fit before gluing, but I bet you would successfully rig this model quicker using the E Z Rigging than if you were to do it all yourself.
We definitely want to thank Starfighter Decals for sending this set to us for review.
