The T-33A is a well-known aircraft flown by multiple countries. Platz has recently released and re-released and re-released that model. If you want more than just the markings provided in the kit, and if you're looking for colorful schemes, then this release from Rocketeer Decals is what you want. There are five aircraft covered:

  • Rocketeer Decals 1/72 T-33A “USAFE”
36th FBS, Furstenfeldbruck AB, Germany, 1952 (this is the most colorful example with a red tail, red wingtip-tanks and blue-and-white stripes on the nose and stabs)
  • 77th FBS, 20th FBG, Wethersfield, Essex, England, 1954 (red lightning bolts on the fuselage sides and sides of the tip-tanks)
  • 10th TRW, Alconbury, Huntingdonshire, England (red and black tip-tanks)
  • 19th TRS, 47th BW, Sculthorpe, Norfolk, England (blue and black tip-tanks with whit stars, along with a blue fin stripe with white stars)
  • 66th TRW, Laon AB, France (black and red tip-tanks with a sunburst rainbow on the fin/rudder)

Each aircraft overall is natural metal coupled with the detail mentioned in each listing. Decals are very nicely printed – the colors are outstanding – and appear to be in register.

If you're looking for more decals to use on your 1/72 T-33s then by all means pick up this set! You'll be glad you did.

Huge, huge thanks to Rocketeer Decals for sending this sheet to review.
