RetroWings 1/144 Revell Harrier Cockpit
By Matt Bittner
The Revell GR.7/AV-8B Harrier is definitely the best in 1/144. On its own it's a really outstanding kit; however, as with most kits in 1/144, there is room for improvement. RetroWings has already tackled this kit in the past with their intake replacements (providing the opened auxilliary intake doors, which is how they were seen on the ground) but now they provide a much better detailed cockpit.
There are three resin parts provided by RetroWings. One replacement cockpit tub, and a choice of two replacement ejection seats. One seat (with the more "squarish-headrest") is meant for the AV-8B while the other is meant for the British version. The only thing you'll need from the kit is its control stick as this was not needed to be re-formed.
Not a difficult addition at all. Just add the RetroWings pieces in place of the kit parts, and you'll have a nicely detailed Harrier cockpit. You may want to either squash-cast or vaccuum form a new canopy, though, so you can pose it open to display the excellent detail. Also add their intake replacements and you'll have an excellent Harrier in your 1/144 collection.
My thanks to RetrokiT for supplying the Harrier cockpit to review.
