When I reviewed the Pheon Models JG.II decals a couple of months ago, I explained on everything that Pheon was and all about pricing and all that.  I will not go into that again now, but will refer the reader to that article for that explanation.  Instead, I will concentrate on just the Jasta 40 set of decals.

On this 1/72 sheet there exists decals for thirteen aircraft.  Yes, decals exist for all thirteen.  That should be enough to convince most to purchase this decal set.  If you so desired, you could build all thirteen aircraft and have all markings contained on one sheet.  Exceptional.

You will not find any better decals on the market, I'm now convinced.  Not only is the register spot on, but the colors and crispness of the decals is something to be seen.  While all decals are exceptional, one stands out above all others.  That is the "flying dagger" of Werner Hertel's Pfalz D.IIIa.  Simply stunning what the decal producers (Fantasy Printshop) have been able to accomplish with this one set of markings.  I suspect in the near future we will be seeing a lot of Pfalz D.IIIa models marked as Hertel's machine at the various contests and conventions.  I think it would be silly to pick up these decals and not finish a model using the "flying dagger".

Stunning.  That's about how I can sum up my feelings on the Jasta 40 sheet.  Simply stunning.  I said it before in the JG.II sheet.  If you don't pick up this sheet now and think later you might want it, you will regret it.  These aren't being printed in the number of sheets that someone like Aeromaster would do.  Once the first run is all sold, then you won't be able to get them anymore.  So buy them now before you regret it later.

Another excellent item.  In the package you will receive a frameable profile of one of the aircraft, inserted at "random".  Mine just happened to be Auer's.  You can purchase others directly from Pheon for two pounds each, plus postage and packing.

Note that this sheet is also available in 48th scale for £17.45.

My thanks to Pheon Models for allowing me the priveledge of reviewing this sheet.
