Pavla’s latest addition to their clear vacuformed replacement canopy line cover a wide range of subjects.
First up is V72-67, for the Italeri or ICM Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-29. This has the windscreen separate from the main canopy, and the framing is nicely done.
Next is V72-68, for the Academy North American F-86E Sabre. Like the MiG-29 canopy, this has the windscreen separate from the main canopy and crisp framing.
Finally, V72-69 is for the A-model Piasecki HUP-1/2/3. While the previous two kits could be made out of the box with good results from the kit clear parts, the A-model HUP kit really needs a good vacuformed replacement. This piece does just that, with nice framing.
These canopies are a bit more work than the kit pieces, but their thinness more than makes up for that extra effort, especially in the case of an open canopy. My thanks to Pavla for the review samples.
