Modell-Hobby 1/72 Revell Gloster Gladiator Mk.I Instrument Panel
By Matt Bittner
Modell-Hobby is a recent addition to the modeling universe, and it appears they're concentrating on photoetch and film instrument panels in 1/72. This release is an instrument panel for the Revell 1/72 Gloster Gladiator. There are four pieces on the photoetch (you "build-up" the instrument panel) with a two-piece film. The order of construction for these is to lightly sand the photoetch; paint the front of the photoetch pieces (normally all instrument panels are black); cut out and apply the clear dial film to the back of two photoetch pieces; paint the back of each assembly white; then assemble the pieces together to create the complete instrument panel. A little bit of work involved with assembling this set, but it will pay off dividends for the final visual appearance. While I don't have the Revell kit, I do have the Heller Gladiator and you can see in the attached photo the difference between the kit part, and the Modell-Hobby set. A definite enhancement. I can't tell for sure until I start assembling the kit, but it appears the Modell-Hobby set should also work with the Heller kit.My thanks to Modell-Hobby for the review set.
