JBr Decals 1/144 Rosarius Spitfire
By Matt Bittner
JBr Decals continue their release of interesting 1/144 decals by bringing out this set of markings for a German-captured Spitfire Mk.IXc. The Eduard 1/144 Spitfire Mk.IXs are excellent kits, and so far JBr Decals has been at the forefront releaseing decals for both the Mk.IXc and Mk.IXe. If you're looking for something different and something unique, then this set for a Rosarius Spitfire is what you want.
Typical German-captured aircraft were uniquely painted so they wouldn't be shot-down by their own forces. This Spitfire is definitely relatively garish. The upper surfaces were finished overall in RLM 74 (green) while the undersides were RLM 04 (yellow). The set provides all the necessary decals, but depending on the country you live in you may have to cobble the swasitkas together from two different decals. This is done because of laws in certain countries. Just take your time and it will be no problem assembling the two decals into one swastika on the tail.
All-in-all this is an excellent set for a single aircraft – something different, that's for sure. The decals are nicely printed and appear to be in register. I definitely thank JBr Decals for sending this set to review.
