Eduard 1/72 Spitfire Mk.IXc SPACE
By Jacob Russell
Space sets combine 3D printed waterslide decals with a steel photo-etch fret. This set consists of 8 parts. 4 of these are decals and 4 are photo-etched parts on a single fret. The 3D decals include an instrument panel, compass face and a small port side electrical panel.
The photo-etch parts include the seat harness and the cockpit access door release lever.
The decals are straightforward to use: you soak the sheet in warm water for a couple of seconds until the decals slide off the backing sheet. Don't leave the decals in the water too long: this causes them to swell and distort. You can use white glue or GSI Creos (Gunze) Mr. Mark Setter to increase their adhesion and for best results apply clear gloss before attaching them.
This small set is quite deceptive. It can be argued that an open canopy ruins the classic Spitfire profile but I for one like to look inside the cockpit. This Space set gives you an accurate instrument panel and well detailed seat to look at. I recommend this set and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
