Eduard 1/72 AN/AAQ-28(V) LITENING Pod
By Matt Bittner
The AN/AQQ-28(V) LITENING targeting pod was developed by the Israelis as a precision targeting pod system that can be used on multiple types of aircraft. You can see them on practically everything, from an A-10 to an F/A-18, F-15E, etc. It has the advantage of being able to be used under all types of weather, during any time of the day.
The Eduard 1/72 LITENING pod (#672 114) consists of two pieces of resin that create the main pod body and sensor head; a photoetch fret that contains two "rear ends" (I'm guessing one for "just in case" you lose one) and a decal sheet. Construction is simple, glue the sensor head and photoetch "rear end" to the main body of the pod then it's ready for paint and the supplied decals. What this doesn't include is any type of pylon to attach it to, Eduard assuming the kit you're going to use this on comes with the correct pylon.
This is really nicely detailed and will look great slung under your favorite jet model. My thanks to Eduard for supplying the review pod.
