Eduard 1/72 A6M2 Zero Masks for the Airfix Kit
By Chris Banyai-Riepl
Overview
The Eduard mask sets are designed and pre-cut to fit exactly to the kit specified. Made from the same kind of material that you find in Tamiya tape, this mask material is easy to apply, stays in place, and then removes just as easily.
The Set
One area where these masks really pay off is with aircraft that have heavily framed canopies. The Mitsubishi A6M Zero is on of those aircraft, and the use of this set will greatly reduce the painting preparation stage. Each panel of the canopy is provided as a separate mask, and the instructions clearly mark out just exactly where they should go. As an added bonus, there are wheel masks that will make painting the separate hub and tire a snap.
Conclusion
This is a very welcome addition to the Eduard Mask line, and it should definitely be purchased alongside the Airfix A6M2 kit. Our thanks to Eduard for the review sample.
