Eduard 1/48 Bf109E-7 Space
By Jacob Russell
This Space set ($10.95 USD) is for Eduard's reissued Messerschmitt Bf109E-7 Weekend Edition. Space sets combine 3D printed waterslide decals with a steel photo-etch fret. This set consists of 19 parts. 6 of these are decals and the rest are photo-etched parts on a single fret. Many of these are pre-painted.
The 3D decals include upper and lower instrument panels, the instrument panel-mounted ammunition counter and a starboard sidewall console face The decals are straightforward to use: you soak the sheet in warm water for a couple of seconds until the decals slide off the backing sheet. Don't leave the decals in the water too long, as this causes them to swell and distort. You can use white glue or GSI Creos (Gunze) Mr. Mark Setter to increase their adhesion and for best results apply clear gloss before attaching them.
The small PE fret includes the seat harness and 3 instrument panel levers. All of these parts have a very high level of detail.

Conclusion
I like Space sets. Eduard's standard photo-etch, Löök and Space 3D sets give the adventurous modeler 3 different ways to enhance their Messerschmitt E-7's cockpit. It's up to you to decide which set best suits your own modeling approach. I recommend this Space set and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
