Chris Miller of Cobra Company has been busy. Not only has he been speeding up the tempo for new releases, he's also lowered prices on his existing product lines as well. Check out his website at www.cobracompany.com to see what I mean.
In this installment, Chris has released two new sets aimed at the MRC/Academy 1/35 Blackhawk kits:
CC35004 - UH-60L Correction Set
This set provides the correct stabilator for the late model Blackhawk as well as a new rear cabin bulkhead, engine intakes, engine faces for inside the intakes, and main landing gear end caps. Some of the other details that are missing such as the details on the cabin ceiling are addressed in the Blackhawk Interior Detail Set from Eduard.
CC35005 - MH-60L Conversion Set
If you've seen the movie 'Blackhawk Down', you've met the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) and their unique aircraft. One of the latest additions is the MH-60L which is highly modified UH-60L with all of the electronics needed to slip into and out of 'gomer territory' safely. This detail set is targeted for the MRC/Academy UH-60L kit, as the MH-60G kit does not have the passenger seats needed for this conversion. This set includes a major facelift for the cockpit with new pilots' seats, cabin doors, instrument panel and consoles, and flight controls. An array of antennas, sensors, chaff/flare dispensers, etc., round out the conversion.
These sets will certainly take MRC/Academy's outstanding Blackhawk kits and make them even better! Leave it to Cobra Company to continue providing quality conversions for rotary winged subjects!
My sincere thanks to Cobra Company for these review samples!
