Begemot 1/72 Sukhoi Su-24 Stencil Decals
By Matt Bittner
There are three kits I know of in 1/72 for the Sukhoi Su-24: Dragon, Zvezda and Streem. If you're lucky enough (or unlucky enough, because the kit is a bear to assemble) to own a Streem Su-24 then you're all set. It is by far the most accurate Su-24 on the market, regardless of scale. There are a few inaccuracies with the Dragon kit, but if you weren't lucky enough to pick up a Streem when they were first released (they sold out quickly and have never been re-released, unfortunately) then the Dragon or Zvezda kits are better than nothing. Now that you have a 1/72 Su-24, built and ready for final detailing, you might want to pick up this set of stencils to really complete the model. Really complete it – to the 'n'th' degree. There are a lot of small decals on this set, as you would imagine. There are decals for one, complete airframe – the sheer number not only comes from the actual number of real stencils on the aircraft, but also the fact Begemot caters for each version of the Su-24. That means you'll have left overs – what you'll do with I have no idea, but you'll have them.
Not only are their decals for the airframe itself, but you also receive stencils for all pylons, and all weapons that can be carried by the Su-24.This release is stunning not only in the amount of decals provided, but also stunning on the level of AMS needed to actually add these to your model. Be prepared to spend a lot of time adding all these to your model. But once you do, it will be more stunning than it was before. Plus a conversation starter – people won't believe you actually applied all those decals to one model.
Huge thanks to Begemot for sending this set of decals in to review.
