Afterburner Decals Sheet 48-048 F/A-18E VFA-27 Royal Maces
By Frank Anselmo
One of the new decal sheets from the latest round of releases from Afterburner Decals is this sheet for the F/A-18E aircraft of VFA-27 Royal Maces on board the USS Kitty Hawk. This release is part continuing line of releases for modern United States aircraft. The quality of this decal package is send to none.
The decal markings on this decal package represent three individual aircraft, but because of time frames there are actually eight individual options. The CAG aircraft of VFA-27 is represented from 5 different years from 2004 thru 2008. The CO aircraft is represented for two year, 2005 and 2006, and the XO aircraft from 2005.
The individual options are:
F/A-18E, 165860, NF/200, 2004 CAG aircraft
F/A-18E, 165860, NF/200, 2005 CAG aircraft
F/A-18E, 165860, NF/200, 2006 CAG aircraft
F/A-18E, 165860, NF/200, 2007 CAG aircraft
F/A-18E, 165860, NF/200, 2008 CAG aircraft
F/A-18E, 165861, NF/201, 2005 CO aircraft
F/A-18E, 165861, NF/201, 2006 CO aircraft
F/A-18E, 165862, NF/202, 2005 XO aircraft
The colors and markings for each of these aircraft are shown on two full color 8 ½ x 11 double sided sheets. The decal package contains enough national markings, walkways, stencils, slime lights, and cheat lines for two complete aircraft models. The decals come on one regular size sheet, and one smaller sheet that contain the stripes (cheat lines).
Also contained in this package is a Weapons and Stores guide for arming your F/A-18E, and a full page Stencil Guide.
The decals come packaged in a sealed poly bag, and have been printed by Cartograf. The decals themselves are very thin, and are in perfect register. The amount of carrier film surrounding each design is an absolute minimum.
These decals have been sized for the various Hasegawa releases of the F/A-18E kit. They can be fitted to other kits of the Super Hornet with some adjusting.
The decals and instruction sheets inside the package have been very well researched by the entire Afterburner Decals team, and are very comprehensive.
This sheet and all other Afterburner Decals sheets can be ordered directly from their website: https://www.afterburnerdecals.com/.
My thanks to Scott Brown of Afterburner Decals for this sample review sheet.
