IPMS/USA Nationals 2011 - Model Gallery, Part 3
By Matt Bittner
The number of entries increased almost two-fold over a one-day period. There were a lot of models that came in today, Friday, this third day of events for the 2011 IPMS/USA National convention being held in Omaha, Nebraska. The quality of the models is still really high, and having to compete in this arena is definitely a fete.
Someone mentioned to me that I'm sort-of "mono-railed" (one track mind) when it comes to the images I post. I have to admit that yes, I am. That's because in the past I was really tired of other image posts when those were mostly of the larger scales - something I don't build in. I'm primarly a 1/72 builder, with 1/144 thrown in when I want to have fun (seriously, I find 1/144 modeling not only extremely relaxing but fun as well), and most other sites in the past haven't concentrated well on those areas. Plus I tend to build nothing but earlier aircraft (earlier than WW2) which is why I concentrate on those, as well.
But I try. I try to find "other" models that pique my interest. There were definitely some this time around. Some awesome ships, some cool fictional stuff, etc. So, without further ado, here are today's model images.
