This is a photo of my first F4U-1 Corsair. It is the SMER 1/72 kit with Aeromaster decals and scratchbuilt wing folds. The aircraft depicted is from VF17 and is the mount of F.J. Streig, Piwa Field, Bougainville, in 1944.Peter Sargent |

The following three models are all done by Will Riepl. This is the Minicraft 1/48 Skyrocket. Rather than finish it like the prototype, I did mine up as if it actually went into service. I used Model Master paints throughout, although the silver is Alclad. The markings are from VF-6 off of the USS Enterprise. I scrounged through the decal box and came across an OLD decal for the VF-6 emblem. Thought what the heck and gave it a try, and it worked without any problems! |
