Quick Skins 1/24 Resin Audi A4

Introduction
This brand new 1/24th kit from Quick Skins represents the 1996 Audi A4 Touring Car as raced in either the German or British sport scar series. Quick Skins have previously brought us a couple of transkits - the BMW M3 as well as the Aurora GT - but this is their first attempt at a full kit. The subject matter seems to form a nice trend with its predecessors - touring cars never likely to been seen in plastic. This is a full 1/24th scale curbside kit with no engine detail, but a full interior is offered. There is no Photo-etch included with the kit in an attempt to keep the price low at $85. The kit appears to be very well executed.

The kit is made almost entirely of resin. The castings are excellent with nice clean, sharp castings. The body is molded in one piece resin that literally has no flash or pinholes whatsoever. The main floor pan has some nice detail such as the Audi 'Rings' on the rear decking. The two piece roll cage is excellently molded with nice detailed gussets and really requires no building.
There is a separate resin 'sheet' of interior parts such as the door trim, rear decking, mirrors, electric box, extinguisher, and rear exhaust tips. There is also another bag of resin odds and ends like the seat, dash, and wing.
The kit contains a sheet of vacuform for the four windows.
The kit provides two separate front valances, clearly marked, to be used for either the German or British touring series, you choose.
The decals are superbly done by Umi art. There is very little carrier film and the printing is excellent. There are number plates for both series, German and British.
The instructions are rather basic consisting of a few diagrams and decal placement guide depending on the race series chosen. Included with the kit is an introduction by the creator Joe Vondracek in which he addresses a few potential hazards. He mentions the rear wheel room or lack there of it. Some shaving may be required. He also address the roll cage clearance. Both items are rudimentary and good test fitting should flush the things out. A tip given for the decaled 'Audi' Rings is patience.
Conclusions
The kit looks to be a nice clean easy build, all the parts are executed well. The roll cage and resin sheet of parts are impressive casting examples.
I really like this kit and applaud the subject matter. I think Quick Skins has done well. The kit is reasonably priced at $85 (for a new resin kit) and the attempt has been made to keep the cost low and mentions using aftermarket PE for more detail.
