New Glue Looper
By Matt Bittner
For those unaware, "crowd funding" is a relatively new way of getting your product off the ground. You present your idea on some sime (like Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, etc.) and if the "public" likes what they see and believes in your product then they support you by - in essence - pre-ordering that product. There have been some crowd-sourced projects that have been huge successes, asking for a small amount and a few people but instead receive millions of dollars through thousands of people.
And of course there are those that don't find the funding and never get off the ground.
The Glue Looper has decided to go the crowd funding way to see if there is interest in a Glue Looper Version 3. If you remember I've reviewed The Glue Looper Version 2 twice, both in its stand-alone article and along-side other glue applicators. The Glue Looper is my favorite at what it's supposed to do, accurately apply a thin viscosity liquid glue in precise areas. It works best with plastic liquid cement and thin, "regular" CA. What it doesn't do is work with thicker glues very well.
And that's where Version 3 is going to come it. The Glue Looper company is working on a design that will work with the thicker glues but need "advanced money" (if you will) to get the design off the ground. And that's where we come in. They're looking for US$5000 in 55 days - last time I looked they were at almost US$4000 so they're almost there.
Another aspect when you back a project are the incentives provided. Usually these incentives are better, and a little less expensive, then if you waited for the product to "go to market" and then had to pay full price. The incentives provided with The Glue Looper are excellent and bound to please. I personally backed them at the US$30 level which will provide me with two Version 3 Loopers and two handles.
So let's show The Glue Looper we like their product and want to see them go to the next level.
