THE HELLCAT’S MOST FORMIDABLE FOE

Join the Jinrai Squadron – and enjoy traditional Hasegawa quality – with this exceptionally designed “Zero” kit!  Hasegawa has turned a classic WWII aircraft into a 1/32 masterpiece, offering modelers remarkable realism and superior scale details.  The introduction of the A6M5 Zero Type 52 signaled a series of changes for one of WWII’s most famous fighters – all of which were required in order to effectively take on the F6F Hellcat and the F4U Corsair.  An improved exhaust system helped increase thrust and enhanced the roll rate for all models.  A6M5c variants also added thicker, protective armored glass for the windshield and armor plating behind the pilot.  Weapons modifications included three .51 inch guns, two 20 mm Type 99-II guns and storage for a 250 kg bomb.

This limited edition kit features new resin cowling parts and two exciting marking options: 1. I.J.N. 721st N.F.G “Jinrai Sq.,” Code: 721-23, Miyazaki AB, Feb. 1945 2. I.J.N. 721st N.F.G. “Jinrai Sq.,” Code: 721164, Miyazaki AB, Feb. 1945

Total parts: 95     Skill level: 3    This is a Limited Edition kit.

Following its 1943 introduction, the Kawanishi N1K quickly earned a reputation for being incredibly resilient and highly maneuverable. In combat, the N1K could easily go toe-to-toe against the F6F Hellcat, as well as the P-51 Mustang and the F4U Corsair. The N1K1-Ja version featured four 20 mm Type 99 cannons mounted in the wings, but lacked the frontal 7.7 mm (.303 in) Type 97s found on earlier variants. This limited edition kit features markings for the I.J.N. 762nd N.F.G., Code: 762-56, Philippines, 1944.

THE BLUE ANGELS’ TRAINER AIRCRAFT!

Used by the Blue Angels throughout the mid-1970s and 1980s, the TA-4J Skyhawk featured a “down-rated” engine and lacked weapons systems. 277 were built precisely to help pilots train for the Blue Angels’ spectacular stunt shows. Many TA-4F variants were also converted into TA-4Js for this purpose as well. After serving the Blue Angels for over a decade, they replaced  the A-4 Skyhawk with the F/A-18A/B Hornet in November, 1986. This limited edition kit features special markings for the U.S. Navy aerobatic team “Blue Angels,” Code: 7.

TWO THRILLING WAYS TO RECREATE THE “QUEEN OF THE SKIES”

hsgs0679.jpg

While initial 100-series 747s offered sufficient payload and enough range for domestic flights, they required more of each for longer international flights. 200-series 747s were soon developed, including 1971’s B747-200 for basic passenger flights. The famed Japan Airlines (JAL) added 747-200s to their fleet throughout the decade to accommodate the increased number of international flights. This limited edition combo kit features two JAL 747’s with the option of two sets of markings:

1. JAL “Old Paint,” Code: JA8116 (Early: Dark Blue and Red Stripe)
