Czech Master 1/72 Grumman Goose by Chris Banyai-RieplI have wanted to build a model of the Grumman Goose for a long time, and now, thanks to those wonderful people in the Czech Republic, I can now do just that. This kit is molded in resin, with vacuformed clear parts. The resin parts are very crisply done, with very few bubbles. Panel lines are recessed, and a rudimentary cockpit is given. No detail is given for anything behind the cockpit, but with the small windows and high wing, very little could be seen anyway. The construction is straightforward, consisting of right and left fuselage halves, solid right and left wings, and separate horizontal stabilizers. The wing float supports are provided and are delicate. Careful gluing will be required here, and the lack of locating pegs and holes will make this task all the more difficult. Decals are provided for a Canadian Goose and a USN Goose and look to be very thin. They are printed by MPD. This is a very welcome kit and I am sure that it will find its way onto a lot of shelves. With the wide variety of military and civilian Geese out there, the most difficult part will be deciding how to finish it. | The decals. The wing and engines. The fuselage. |
