Sport aviation is all around us, but it wasn't always that way. Ryan Aviation Company had a lot to do with that, most notably with its Ryan ST trainer aircraft. These stable trainers quickly found their way into civilian hands, and for little money you could be flying on the weekends. Built right before the war, the Ryan SC took the concept a bit further and created a great airplane for the civilian market.
