Rob Taurus 1/72 Sword Spitfire PR.IV Canopy
By Matt Bittner
A good friend of mine – also a modeler – and I were discussing the fact that Falcon, another company that makes replacement vacuformed canopies, hasn't produced anything lately for the newer models. Well, there's no need to lament that, anymore. Rob Taurus has come to the fray with canopies for kits that have been recently released. That is the case for the Sword 1/72 PR.IV Spitfire. While the kit canopies are decent enough, it's always better to have a vacuformed canopy for clarity. In fact, I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but the main canopy (cast in resin) from my Sword example appears a little "yellow". So, replacing it with this Rob Taurus release will help with being able to see inside the cockpit.
I am definitely glad Rob Taurus is releasing replacement canopies for the more recent kits. It definitely helps with the "scale look" of the kits.
Many thanks to Rob Taurus for sending the PR.IV canopy to review.
