A new-to-me decal company has supplied items for review. While this
is the first I have heard of them I'm hoping it won't be the last. The
decals shown here are extremely well done and are awesome in what they
have accomplished. For example, if you look at the USS Saratoga sheet
with markings for the aircraft, every single decal on these sheets are
legible. Legible! Imagine!
While these decals are ALPS-generated and have been overcoated, you
still must exercise caution. ALPS-generated decals are normally more fragile
than any others and the colors will rub off if you're too ham-fisted with
these.
The really nice aspect of Starfighter is they cater to the "lesser"
kits. So far - thankfully - no 109 or 51 or Spit decals, instead concentrating
(so far) on the US Navy and primarily ships and things that go on those
ships.
Naturally, the decals I most admire and am thankful for are the 1/72nd
ones. Finally, some decals for the old Matchbox and Heller Helldiver and
Monogram/Accurate Miniatures F4B-4!! Let's hope they continue and release
decals for the Monogram F11C-2 and eventually venture into USAAC and the
Monogram/Accurate Miniatures and Olimp P-6E and Matchbox P-12E.
Huge thanks to Starfighter
Decals for sending these much needed decals for review.
