Goodbye to Michael Benolkin
|
A quick look at the contents of this issue will show one major change
over the past five years. Michael Benolkin is missing. Doing a monthly
magazine as well as travelling around the country for his day job has
reduced the amount of time available to actually do any modelling and
he has decided to step down from the editorship of Internet Modeler.
In the past five years Michael has managed to spread the name of IM
at many hobby shows around the USA as well as make numerous industry
contacts all of which has benefited us immensely. Add to this the
reviews, builds, trade show reports and walkarounds he has provided and
it is obvious that he will be missed.
Fortunately his departure from the top of IM will now allow him to
concentrate on the 'fun' side of the hobby - building - and we all can
look forward to seeing the results of this change in the the future.
It is one of the interesting benefits of the internet that it is possible
to work with someone for years without actually meeting face to face.
So far everyone I have met in person has turned out to be as nice in the
flesh as onscreen, therefore I think of Michael as a friend and I look
forward to meeting him in the future.
