Lift Here 1/72 Air Museum II: P-47, Harvard & Tiger Moth

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

This is an interesting decal sheet and a great concept. It features aircraft in the Yugoslav Air Museum, a museum that has quite an interesting collection. Housed in a futuristic building (the one illustrated on the decal instructions, the collection includes aircraft from all eras and many manufacturers, including a Nieuport 11, a Yak-3, and parts of an F-117 shot down during the conflict in the 1990s. This sheet provides markings for the Tiger Moth, P-47 and Harvard in the collection.

The Harvard and Tiger Moth are both finished similarly, being camouflaged in dark green and gray, with yellow undersurfaces. The Harvard also features a large yellow band around the rear fuselage. Both have roundels on the upper and lower wing surfaces, with the lower wing also having large black codes. The tail has the standard fin flash of red/white/blue with a red star centered.

The P-47, actually labeled an F-47D-40-RE, is finished in natural metal overall, with black anti-glare panels both in front of and behind the canopy. This plane carries the number ‘'056' on the cowling, and this number is repeated on the upper right and lower left wing. Roundels are opposite these, as well as on the fuselage.

These three aircraft are interesting decal subjects and offer something different for the modeler. The decals are nicely printed with excellent registration. It is a limited production sheet, so if you are interested, do not hesitate to pick one up.

My thanks to Lift Here for the review sample.
