Draw Decal's 1/144
Aloha 737-700

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

With the number of 737s totaling thousands, there are many liveries to choose from. One of the more attractive schemes for the type has always been the Aloha Airlines livery, especially in its most recent form. With an attractive white and blue fuselage accented with large Aloha titles and a blue tail with a multi-colored flower, the current Aloha livery is definitely striking.

This latest release from Draw Decal provides all you'll need to make an attractive 737 model. The decal is designed for the Revell 737-800, which will need to be cut down to make the –700 variant. Instructions for this are on the Draw Decal website. There appears to be enough of the thin yellow stripe to make up for any slight errors in cutting the fuselage down, too. A small insert of white is also included for going under the small curve of the 'A' in Aloha to ensure that there are no translucency issues. A complete set of names for the nose, as well as a full set of registration codes is also included. Finally, the sheet includes a complete set of window decals and door outlines.

This is a great addition to the growing 737 decal lineup out there. The only thing missing from the sheet are decals for the new winglet-equipped Aloha 737s, but I wouldn't be surprised if Draw Decal quickly adds those to this sheet once more information on their layout is confirmed. If you have an itch to cut down a 737-800 to a –700, this is an excellent decal sheet to finish that conversion. Be sure to visit Draw Decal's website for more great airline decals!
