MOSKIT RUSSIA EXHUST PIPES

By Ray Mehlberger

Mushroom Model Magazine has sent me some samples of exhaust pipes that they carry by Moskit Russia. These exhaust pipes are cast in metal and are hollowed out on the ends where the exhaust would come out. This saves modelers the job of drilling out the ends of the ones they get in various aircraft and armor kits. These are also treated to look like burnt metal, like a exhaust pipe gets after much use. Neat!

The first example is for a 1/48th scale Junkers Ju-87B,C or R version. These are very nicely cast.

The second example is for Tamiya's 1/35th scale Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. C or D German halftrack. It comes in two pieces: the muffler and the exhaust pipe. Only a bit of rust colored paint on this or some pitting added would make it better perhaps. However, as-is, it is very nice.
