Miniatur Models, Detail 72 1/72nd Russian 2-axle Wagon, Short Chassis Maintenance (railroad car)

History

I have no history on this at all, unfortunately.

The Kit

This kit consists of approximately 42 parts, all in resin. Molding is very nice, with little to no air bubbles. There are no decals provided, but none are needed as far as I can tell. Included with the kit is a short section of track and ballast - a very nice addition.

Construction can start anyway you want. After cleaning up the parts, I'll probably add everything to the main bed first, prior to adding the wheels and "suspension". The wheels and "suspension" will probably be the most difficult pieces to add, as the wheels and axles need to be sandwiched between the "suspension pieces" as you're gluing. Epoxy is definitely the glue of choice for this assembly.

Conclusion

Overall this is a stunning model. As far as I know, Miniatur is the only company currently making Soviet, Great Patriotic War (WW2) era railroad rolling stock. If you want a different model for your collection, something out of the ordinary and something not everyone has, then definitely purchase one of Miniatur's rolling stock. Not only do they do Soviet, but they also do German railroad equipment as well. Highly recommended.

Also included for review was a set of jerry cans and ammo boxes. These are again, very well molded with little to no airbubbles. The cool thing with the jerry cans is they are supplied in multiple forms. Not only are there single cans, but there are cans that are together "side by side" and "front to back". A very nice touch, and also recommended.

My thanks to Minatur Models, Detail 72 for the review samples.
