Mastery Minatures

1/48 Pilot Figures

By Michael Benolkin

Squadron has started carrying a new line of figures from Mastery Miniatures. These figures are cast in white metal and are nicely detailed.

This first figure, number 48001 represents an RAF pilot starting the run for his aircraft. Included in the set is a parachute rig that can be posed in the aircraft or on the wing.

This second figure, number 48012 represents a Luftwaffe pilot seated in his Bf 109 tightening his harness.

As is typical of white metal figures, these is a bit of cleanup of seam lines with an X-Acto blade, apply a primer and then detail away your pilot.

Adding a figure or two to your aircraft can give your modeling a new dimension. While some kits do include figures, most do not. Figure sets like these will definitely add life to your modeling and/or hide an otherwise sparse cockpit.

These figures and much of the Mastery Miniatures figure line is available from the Squadron website. My sincere thanks to Squadron for these review samples!
