ALLIED-AXIS, THE PHOTO JOURNAL OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR ISSUE 10 AMPERSAND PUBLISHING MSRP: $15.95 This is the tenth book from Ampersand Publishing. They are also the folks that do the quarterly magazine Military Miniatures in Review, which is also an excellent publication. Each one of the Allied-Axis book series is a virtual photo album of armor subjects, with very clear and sharp pictures, that are usually ones that have never appeared before in any other book. Each new book is in the 11" x 8 1/2" soft-cover format. This new book contains 96 pages. There are 141 black and white photos. Chapters are on: -
The PzKpw. 35(t) with many walk-around type photos included of the one on display at the Aberdeen Armor Museum. -
The U.S. M3 "Lee" Medium tank, with walk-around photos included of one on display in Canada. -
The Sturmgeschutz III at the front, covering several versions. -
U.S. Rockets in WWII, showing several different mounts and vehicles they were used on. -
The German Sdkfz. 250 halftrack. This chapter includes walk-around photos of a running vehicle that appeared at the Invicta War & Peace Show in 2000. I especially liked the interior shots. Highly recommended. I bought my copy at a hobby shop in New Jersey while on a vacation. However, this series can be found in any most good hobby shops. | |
