1/72nd FCM German Insignias

FCM is a relative newcomer in the world of WW1 decals. This set of decals is primarily devoted to crosses of various sizes, most meant for specific aircraft. In addition to the crosses, FCM also provides prop logos, weights tables, specific manufacturer logos (for example the Oeffag Albatros logo found on their fins), and decal instruments for the specific types found on this decal sheet.

Those aircraft types covered are the Fokker D.II, D.VII and Dr.I ; and Albatros D.III (both German and Oeffag versions), D.V and D.Va.

Overall the decals are nicely done. However, the smaller decals (logos, instruments, etc.) are a little bit fuzzy. It appears to me that these decals are silk-screened.

The crosses alone make this decal sheet worthy of purchase. The 'fuzziness' doesn't detract any from the crosses and is hardly noticeable on the larger decals. The smaller decals are still useable; they're just not sharp enough for me, although I may still use them.

Overall this is a nice decal sheet, providing modelers with crosses of various heights and widths, catering to the specific types outlined above.

My thanks to Rosemont Hobby Shop for providing the review sample.
