This latest book from Wings and Wheels Publications takes a detailed look at the GAZ-66, as well as a common item behind the vehicle, the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun. Like others in this series, all the photos are in color and are of restored and museum vehicles. If you have any interest in detailing one of these vehicles, this book is a must-have. Starting with a general overview, the book then moves into the details, and details galore. Not only do the photos show where things are and how they look, they also provide a good reference for weathering, as several of the vehicles depicted are dirty and well-used.

The Zu-23-2 anti-aircraft gun is the one at the Technical Museum at Lesany, so if you want to see it in real life, head on over. The book gives the hours as 9 to 5, Wednesday through Sunday. For those of us who find traveling to the Czech Republic a bit tough, the photos presented here should provide more than enough material to detail your model. One point of interest is the ammunition box, which has a star and two shells stamped on the lid.

If you're into detailing your models, the books put out by Wings and Wheels Publications are an invaluable resource. This one is no exception, and is probably the most complete photo reference available on the GAZ-66 and the ZU-23-2, and comes highly recommended.
