Lift Here! Decals 1/72 JKRV Set II

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

This latest release from Lift Here! has fifteen different Yugoslav aircraft from the 1930s and 1940s. Starting with the biplanes, the decal sheet comes with a pair of Hawker Furies and a pair of Ikarus IK-2s. The first Fury is silver overall, with a large black '90' on the fuselage. The second Fury is camouflaged in dark earth and dark green over silver, with a white 54 on the fuselage. The IK-2s mimic the Furies, with the first being silver overall and the second camouflaged. The camouflage on the IK-2, however, consists of two shades of brown and a green, over light blue.

Next up are a pair of Hawker Hurricanes, both Mk. Is. The first one is finished in standard RAF camouflage of dark earth and dark green over silver. Other than the wing roundels, this plane has nothing but a small yellow serial on the rear fuselage. The second Hurricane is a fabric winged Hurricane and is camouflaged in two shades of brown and a green over light blue.

The Rogozarski IK-3 is the next subject up, again with two options. The first is the prototype, painted overall green-gray. The second is finished in two shades of brown and a green over light blue. Both have wing roundels and rudder stripes and little else in the way of markings. Following these are Messerschmitt Bf 108s, again a pair of them. The first is overall blue, with a white 774 on the fuselage, while the second is camouflaged in three color uppers and light blue lowers.

Next is a de Havilland Rapide, painted overall silver with a thin blue cheatline and large civil codes for the wings. Following this is a pair of Blenheims, one in silver overall and the second camouflaged in the usual three-color upper and light blue lowers. Finally, there are a pair of Savoia Marchetti S.79Ks, both finished in standard Italian camouflage with Yugoslav roundels on the wings.

All of these options are interesting additions to any model collection. The decals are well printed and thin, with good color saturation. This sheet is a limited edition, so if any of these are the least bit interesting do not hesitate to grab the sheet. You may not have a chance later. My thanks to Lift Here! for the review sample.
