Overview Datsun's little 510 coupe has been popular with performance enthusiasts for almost 30 years. Its low cost, light weight, and great handling chassis made it a favorite as soon as it hit the streets. The car is still on the Tuner scene today! The Kit With 97 pieces in white, clear, and plated plastic along with four vinyl tires, this kit appears to be a straight reissue of Revell's old BRE racing model. Unfortunately that means that a factory stock version can't be built straight from the box and I suspect that the tooling for the body was permanently altered. Luckily, even though this is a fairly old kit the interior builds up platform style, making for easier painting and detailing. The chassis and engine are fairly well detailed although a bit soft in places, and the windows mount from the outside - a big plus. What really makes this kit is the decal sheet and fortunately its compatible with setting solutions and solvents. Along with a choice of two graphics schemes comes a full complement of interior details and a complete set of badges and scripts for the body. This one should be a big hit with both Tuner and racing fans - thanks to Revell-Monogram for the review sample. |
