In case you have missed out on the numerous titles that AJ Press has been producing, you'll want to quickly tune in and take a look before more of their titles sell out. One of the first series that AJ Press did was a five-volume in-depth look at the PzKpfw V Panther. For those of you who've seen these books, you already know how well they serve the modeler and historian alike. While the Panther series was nice, if you were like me, you wanted to dive into the Tiger. The wait is over!Part 1 is now available and in this first 108 page installment, we look at the development of the Tiger and its initial operations. The narrative text is presented in both Polish and English, as are the captions for all of the great reference photos. While the first half of this book covers history, the remainder contains a wealth of line drawings and explanations of many of the early variations of the Tiger. The book concludes with a look at color profiles of the early Tigers, as well as the available model kits and aftermarket details produced for 1/15 through 1/35 scale modelers. This title is a must-have for all armor buffs and I can hardly wait to see the follow-on volumes in this series. You can find this title and many of the other titles from AJ Press at the Air Connection website (www.airconnection.on.ca).My sincere thanks to Air Connection for this review sample! |
