Internet Modeler & AutosBy Chris Banyai-RieplI'd like to take this time to make a small announcement. This month marks the first month for our new automotive editor, Al Superczynski. While Al has been a part of Internet Modeler from the beginning, this new position puts him in complete charge of the automotive section here at Internet Modeler. What does this mean for you, the reader? Well, my hope is that over the next year or so the automotive section will grow quickly and provide both auto modelers and other modelers with lots of interesting and useful articles. But rather than hear it from me, I'll let Al speak for himself. Thanks, Chris! You can let go of my arm now....Many of you are familiar with my Kit Korner column here in IM and may have noticed that I occasionally feature a car model. Along with airplanes, I've been building model cars since the mid Fifties, probably having accumulated as many unbuilt car kits as aircraft along the way, and that's a LOT of kits!I aim to make the automotive section as interesting and attractive to car modelers as the rest of our e-zine is to everyone else but I need your help - IM gets a regular supply of review kits but there's no way our small permanent staff can build even a small percentage of them. We need modelers to build some of these kits for us. The pay is low but you do get a chance to see your name and work in the pages of one of the premier modeling sites on the web! Anyone interested can contact me at autos@internetmodeler.com for details. We would also like to have more variety in the kits and aftermarket products we cover so encourage both major and cottage industry manufacturers to submit their products for review. Interested parties can also contact me at the above address to make arrangements. We recognize that car modeling is the biggest single genre of the model kit scene in the US and are looking forward to a lot of growth in the automotive side of IM, so sit back and enjoy the ride. We're really glad you're here! |
