Delta Decals 1/72 Imperial German Air Service Decals

By Matt Bittner

This is Delta Decals second WW1 decal release, their first for a specific Nieuport 11 that flew with the Belgians.

The Imperial German Air Service decals consist of markings for the following aircraft:

Hannover Cl.IIIa of Fl.Abt 226(A) – Fuselage is finished overall mauve with a random pattern of dark blue and dark green, with a soft edge.  Tail and wings were finished in lozenge.  Markings consits of a large white ‘K’ on the fuselage sides, the serial “C.13181/17” and a small white “Nelly” on the starboard side.

Lt. Menckhoff’s Albatros D.V of Jasta 3 – Finished overall in mauve and dark green, with pale blue undersurfaces.  Markings are a black ‘M’ on the fuselage sides.

Siemens Schuckert (SSW) D.III of Kest 5 – Fuselage is finished in natural wood while wings and tail surfaces covered with lozenge.  Markings consist of a white swastika only on the fuselage sides.

Fokker D.VII of Jasta 7 (not Jacobs’) – Overall black with a white ‘H’ on the fuselage sides and port upper wing.

Lt. Weber’s Albatros D.Va of Jasta 84 – Natural finished fuselage with a black tail and white rudder/fin, with lozenge coverings on the wings.  Markings consist of a white-bordered black ‘1’ on the fuselage sides and port upper wing.

Siemens Schuckert (SSW) D.III of Kest 4 – Natural fuselage with a green cowl and wheels.  Lozenge covered wings and tail surfaces with a star marking on the fuselage sides.

Albatros D.III of Jasta 29 – Overall mauve and dark green with pale blue undersurfaces.  Markings consist of a black ‘1’ on the fuselage sides and turtledeck.

The decals themselves are in perfect registration and contain all decals for all aircraft.  No need to find crosses anywhere else.  However, you still will need to provide the lozenge decals for the Hannover, SSW D.IIIs and the Albatros D.Va.

Highly recommended.
