In addition to the sets Michael Kendix reviews this month, I recently received three sets for review. These are two sets for the Westland Lysander Mk.III by Gavia (details and canopies), and a set for the A-Model Avro 504 in 1/72.
The first set for the Lysander (S48-091) contains all sorts of goodies. these range from a frame for the fuel tank, to bomb racks, to seat frame and belts, internal structure for the rear canopy, cowl vents, ammunition for the Browning machine guns, wheel covers (three types). All in all a most impressive set
The second Lysander (S48-092) set is of PE canopy frames as well as new canopy material for much of the canopy. Unlike most sets where the frames go on just the exterior, in this case they also go on the interior of the part. There are full nstructions showing the assembly and placement of these items.
The final set (S72-166) is for the new A-Model 1/72 Avro 504. There have been rumours as to the accuracy of the kit. Be that as it may, Part has come up with a detail set to truly enhance this model. The two sheets contain pretty well an entire fuselage interior structure. There are also two part control horns and more of those locators for the rigging that Michael mentions in his review. Spoked wheels and a new undercarriage skid are also included. Interestingly the control coloumn is provided as three pieces to be laminated together. A film and brass control panel is also provided on the same sheet as the windscreens. Full instructions are included showing all items.
The entire line of PART's photoetch can be viewed atĀ https://www.part.pl and both the reviewed photoetch pieces are produced in 1/48th scale.
My thanks to Witold Kozakiewicz and PART for the review samples. PART Detail Sets are available fromĀ Jadar-Model.
