Cobra Company has released three new detail sets for the Boeing Model 377/KC-97 Stratofreighter family.
Set
72009 will provide any of the three Academy 1/72 releases (C-97A, KC-97G
& KC-97L) with replacement engine nacelles, with more depth and detail.
The set also includes replacement turbosuperchargers to give the kit
more of the 'right' look, as well as a set of nosewheel shimmy dampers
missing in the kit. For the KC-97G and KC-97L kits, Cobra also provides
the later styled wheels, an additional antenna 'bump' found on many
of the tankers, and the late model director lights that were located
on the forward underbelly of the aircraft.
Set
44005 updates the Minicraft 1/144 KC-97G kit with four new
engine nacelles with more depth and detail and four replacement white
metal propellers. The set includes the additional antenna 'bumps' missing
from the basic kit. In addition, this set also includes the two jet
engine pods and suspension pylons to update the KC-97G into a KC-97L.
Set
44004 updates the Minicraft 1/144 Boeing 377 Stratocruiser kit with
four new engine nacelles with more depth and detail and four replacement
white metal propellers.
Cobra Company is also releasing a fourth set for the Academy 1/72 Boeing 377 Stratocruiser kit with new nacelles, turbosuperchargers and white metal propellers. This set should be available by the time you read this.
