The GMC CCKW 353 & 352 was the main workhorse of the US Army during
the Second World War. The famous deuce and a half got its start in 1939
and quickly found its way into service. The 353 version had a long wheelbase
while the 352 had a short wheelbase, but they both were 3-axle 2.5 ton
6x6 trucks. A couple different styles of cabs were used throughout its
life, and the cargo box saw many different changes.
This book takes a look at several different CCKW 353 & 252 trucks
in the Czech Republic. Close up photos in both black and white and color
are present throughout showing a lot of details from front to rear. Drawings
accompany the photos and help explain how some of the more hidden parts
fit together. The engine and a couple different cargo beds get the full
photo treatment as well, and some color profiles at the end of the book
round things out.
If you're wanting to superdetail a model of a deuce and a half, this
is definitely a book you don't want to miss.
