Studio 27 1/24 Nissan GTR Decals

There is an alternative decal sheet for the Tamiya Nissan Skyline GT-R kit available from Studio 27. This decal set represents the eye catching Fuoro-red and white colors of the Zexel/Autobacs livery.

The Fluoro-red must be painted on and may be difficult to match as most Fluoro colors are. Especially since the decal placement guide is a colored drawing and the colors do not match the color of this car as I have seen it in pictures. The decals are top notch, silk screened with little carrier film. The extra nice little detail with these decals is the addition of two sets of white bases for the number plates and sponsor backgrounds. A common flaw with some current decals is that they are not opaque enough to conceal the color below, there is 'bleed' through. This is especially true with decals applied over bright colors. There are two simple ways to correct this problem, either mask and paint the white areas or apply a second decal over the first to eliminate the 'bleed' error. The second set of white bases included in this set is a nice little touch that is not wasted on this modeler.
